A kinetic sculpture exhibition
by Terry Peterson
May 15 - June 20 2015
Terry Peterson's installations include a natural mixture of fabricated and organic materials built around a masculine syntax. Part ingenious mad-scientist's lab, part sacred space, the environment he creates is one of wonder and reflection. Raised in a redwood logging town, Peterson watched his male role models struggle to find direction, while the way of life that solidified their identity crumbled around them. With this new work, Peterson subtly invites the viewer to join him in this meditation on growth and loss, preservation and decay, masculine identity and human inheritance.
Aggregate Space Gallery is pleased to present this installation of overly complex sculptures that recontextualize familiar and unfamiliar elements, motion and sound, and sense and memory, all in order to arrest the viewer into soliciting further investigations.
